Project Information

St Andrew's Hospital - New Mental Health Unit and Admin

Project: St Andrews Hospital - New Mental Health Unit and Admin
Client: Queensland Health
Location: Toowoomba, Qld
Value: $5m
Architect: Tony White
Role: Design Architect and Principal Consultant

Following directly on the back of the successful Mental Health wing Refurbishment, St Andrews hospital is planning a new stand-alone facility to allow the current unit to be used as traditional ward space, which is better suited to service the hospital. This is achievable as the flexibility to make this conversion to ward rooms was considered during the design phase of the project. The new design is heavily based on the successful refurbishment project with many of the key planning initiatives being replicated on the new site. The project also incorporates Outpatient facilities on the ground level and new training facilities on the floor above the unit.
Tony has successfully led the project team through the concept design phase which has run smoothly and has been well received. The project will now be fast tracked through to construction with the aim to start construction in 5 months.
