Toowoomba Hospital ATODS unit

Project: Toowoomba Hospital ATODS unit
Client: Queensland Health
Location: Toowoomba, Qld
Value: $2.5m

Refurbishment of 2 upper floors of an existing building for a new drug rehabilitation unit. Won as a competitive bid, with a very tight timeframe, despite the requirement for a new lift
and shaft, the project the project has been developed with careful consultation with the users and stakeholders and is currently running slightly ahead of schedule thanks to some
innovative procurement methodologies. Conceived as a sensitive refurbishment and renewal of a 1960’s nurses quarters, we have had fun finding our inner ‘Mojo’ to deliver one level of consultation and treatment rooms with staff meeting areas, security and a level of staff
accommodation as a mixture of open plan and office accommodation. The original building design and need to install modern services as well as the unique security and functional needs
of a drug-rehab clinic were not without challenges, but have allowed us to come up with some very ‘groovy’ solutions.
